Track 2: Why They Chose Death

Self-reported reasons among people whose death was NOT reasonably foreseeable (2024)

Feeling like a burden 49% Loneliness & isolation 47% Loss of meaningful activities ~55% These are people who were not dying. They were lonely, poor, and felt like a burden. Canada's answer: kill them.

International Law Violations: A Side-by-Side

Legal principles established at Nuremberg (1947), Geneva (1949), and Rome (1998) — and how Canada's MAID program intersects with each

Legal Principle What It Says What Canada Did
Nuremberg Code, Principle 1 (1947) Voluntary consent is absolutely essential. The person must have sufficient understanding to make an enlightened decision. 149 people killed in 2024 could have received disability support but didn't. 47% of Track 2 recipients cited loneliness. Is consent given under despair truly voluntary?
ICCPR Article 6(1) Every human being has the inherent right to life. No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of life. 76,475 state-administered deaths since 2016. The poor and disabled are killed at 2.42× the expected rate.
Rome Statute, Article 7(1)(a) Murder, when committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack against a civilian population. 16,499 deaths in a single year (2024). Systematic: written into federal law. Widespread: 5.05% of all deaths. Directed against civilians: disproportionately the vulnerable.
Rome Statute, Article 7(2)(a) "Attack directed against any civilian population" means a course of conduct pursuant to a State or organizational policy. MAID is federal law (Bill C-7, Bill C-14). It is government policy. The killing is conducted by state-sanctioned medical professionals.
CRPD Article 10 States shall ensure the right to life of persons with disabilities on an equal basis. Track 2 MAID recipients from the most vulnerable disability quintile: 56.9% (expected: 20%). A 2.85× overrepresentation.
Geneva Convention Common Article 3 Prohibits violence to life and person, in particular murder of all kinds, of persons taking no active part in hostilities. Veterans offered MAID instead of wheelchair ramps. At least 4-5 cases referred to RCMP. Military personnel targeted by their own support system.

The Pipeline: From Disability to State-Administered Death

How Canada's system funnels vulnerable people toward MAID instead of support

6.2 million Canadians with disabilities 22% of population (Statistics Canada, 2022) Inadequate housing, income, care Track 2: 732 people whose death was NOT foreseeable Health Canada Sixth Annual Report, 2024 47% report loneliness 49% felt like a burden on others 48.3% from poorest housing quintile (2.42× expected) No support offered 163 did not receive disability services 149 COULD have received them (Health Canada, 2024) KILLED BY THE STATE 16,499 in 2024 alone

Each stage narrows. The funnel points one direction: death. The exits — housing, income support, mental health care — are missing.

The Expansion Timeline: Who Canada Plans to Kill Next

Each expansion lowers the bar. Each delay proves they know it's wrong.

2016 — Bill C-14: MAID Legalized Only for adults whose death is "reasonably foreseeable" 1,018 killed in first year 2021 — Bill C-7: Track 2 Expansion Death no longer needs to be "reasonably foreseeable" Disabled, chronically ill, lonely now eligible. 10,064 killed. 2023 — Mental Illness Expansion DELAYED Originally set for March 2023. Delayed to March 2024. Psychiatrists warned: suicidal ideation cannot be distinguished from MAID requests. 2024 — Bill C-62: Delayed AGAIN to 2027 No clinical consensus on when mental illness is "irremediable" 16,499 killed this year. 76,475 cumulative. Society of Canadian Psychiatry objects. MARCH 2027 — Mental Illness Eligible Depression. Anxiety. PTSD. Personality disorders. Veterans with PTSD. Abuse survivors. The homeless. Projected: 20,000+ kills/year once mental illness is included. PROPOSED: "Mature minors" — children eligible without parental consent

Can Consent Exist Under These Conditions?

The Nuremberg Code requires "understanding and enlightened decision" free from coercion. Health Canada's own data shows who is choosing MAID.

Condition at Time of MAID Request Track 1 (dying) Track 2 (NOT dying) Consent Valid?
Felt like a burden on others 45% 49% Coerced by guilt
Loneliness and isolation 27% 47% Coerced by abandonment
From poorest housing quintile 48.3% (expected: 20%) Coerced by poverty
Did not receive disability services 149 people Denied alternative
Veteran offered MAID instead of wheelchair ramp Confirmed by Veterans Minister in Parliament State coercion

The Nuremberg Code, Principle 1: The person must be so situated as to be able to exercise free power of choice, without the intervention of any element of force, fraud, deceit, duress, overreaching, or other ulterior form of constraint or coercion.

— Nuremberg Military Tribunals, 1947. The same tribunal that convicted Nazi doctors.
